Increasing young peoples participation in rugby

Our extensive youth development programme is totally dependent upon our single grass pitch which has no installed drainage system. Our pitch is regularly waterlogged after heavy rainfall which renders it useless and unable to be used for coaching or playing matches.
We will increase young peoples participation in sport by improving the drainage of our single grass pitch. We aim to purchase pitch aeration equipment recommended by the Rugby Football Union which our club volunteers will use to regularly aerate the pitch to increase the number of times which the young people can use the pitch.

We will purchase the Rugby Football Union's specified pitch maintenance package which has been designed to meet the needs of rugby clubs that aim to deliver high quality pitch maintenance programme. The package comprises:
ISEKI TM3265 manual transmission mini tractor
SISIS Quadraplay (which spikes, brushes and rolls pitch)
SISIS Multitiner (which aerates the pitch by inserting tines which create virtical drainage channels)
We will also purchase an ISO Freight container to store the equipment (above) to keep it safe and in good working order.
Our club is registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 (FSA29054) and a registered Community Amateur Sports Club. Our club was founded in 1878 and has owned our ground at Bleach Green, Egremont for over 80 years. Our club mission is "To strengthen the community through the love of sport". We run an extensive youth development programme for under 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 18 teams and a girls under 13 team with a total of 200 young people of both sexes aged 6 to 18 years participating in the development programme. In total we have approximately 400 members of the local community participating in sporting activity. Our club has a proven ability to deliver projects for the benefit of the local community.
